Joseph J. Albanese, Inc. delivers multi-scope capabilities from demolition and excavation to grading, paving, structure and site concrete.  Through proactive and flexible coordination with general contractors and other project stakeholders, our team gets it done safely, on time and on budget.

Our Virtual Construction Department builds digital models using Building Information Modeling (BIM) software to ensure constructability, improve precision and save time. We build digital models for every structural concrete project and many site concrete projects. We also utilize GPS modeling software that guides our operator and equipment to ensure precision for excavation and grading projects.

 

Building Information Modeling (BIM):

 

Our crews use BIM models on their iPads in the office and field to perform a variety of actions. For example, they can click on a column, footing or wall and get the concrete volume, take quantities, see it in 3-D or mark it as installed for production tracking.

  • Allows us to efficiently and effectively communicate complex project geometries with outstanding graphics in production drawings

  • Enables us to identify potential issues during preconstruction, including constructability, score gaps and any missing details from the architectural plans

  • Ensures that when a change is made in the plan view, the same change is made in every relevant place, helping save time and ensure consistency

  • Improves accuracy for estimation of concrete volumes, pour sequences, phases of work and formwork material quantities

Global Positioning System (GPS) Modeling:

 

Once the project is modeled in the office, we can take it to the field with GPS modeling. GPS sends the information directly to our earthmoving equipment and guides the operator to do the exact excavation and/or grading that is required for the project.

 

The screen in the equipment shows the operator where he needs to cut, what his position is and ensures precision with one piece of equipment rather than many. As a result, our operator can take one pass, knowing that the GPS will ensure that the job is done precisely the first time.
