Raymond J. Fisher Middle School Sports Complex

With a growing population of students entering its doors, Fisher Middle School needed a solution to help prevent overcrowded classrooms. The Los Gatos, Calif., school found its answer in the new Fisher Sports Complex. Built adjacent to the school’s former gymnasium, the facility does more than provide larger gym space—it gives the school a venue to accommodate the entire student body for such events as assemblies and graduation ceremonies. Most important, the facility’s dance studio and fitness room have freed up classrooms that were once used for those activities, enabling those rooms to be put to better use for academic instruction.

For this project, Joseph J. Albanese performed all site concrete work, which included using shotcrete for all vertical surfaces and pervious concrete for pavement.
